Early College Options
What courses can I take as an Early College student?
Students who are dual-enrolled through the GTC Early College program can take any Greenville Tech courses at any of the GTC campuses for which they meet the prerequisites.
Some high schools and career centers offer exclusive dual-enrollment classes onsite or online (called J-sections). These are not listed in the public GTC Course Schedule. See your counselor for more information.
University Transfer Option
High school students can take college classes, which earn credit toward an associate or bachelor's degree. Students enrolled in both high school and college (dual enrollment) take college classes during open blocks in the regular school day, after school or during the summer term. With the experience of these college classes, you'll enter college more confident and prepared for success.
The choice of courses isn't limited, but your best value would be to take courses that satisfy basic requirements or specifically apply to your planned major, and those that will transfer to the 2- or 4-year institution you plan to attend.
- South Carolina public colleges and universities have developed a list of universally transferable courses, giving you a great place to start. You may also want to review the agreements and options at the South Carolina Transfer and Articulation Center.
- Credits from courses identified as transferrable do not automatically transfer to a four-year college or university. Students are responsible for checking with the specific college or university to which they plan to transfer to determine the transferability of any course taken at Greenville Technical College.
- Learn more about transfer options and resources at PATH, the Planning and Transfer Headquarters.

Career Pathways Option
Career Pathways provide high school students with options for getting a jump start on a career. Students take recommended college courses at GTC or at career centers, earning college credit and, in some programs, industry credentials. Students are prepared to enter the workforce as soon as they graduate, or they can continue with the program at GTC to earn advanced credentials and even better starting pay.
