Industrial Electricity Career Pathway
Industrial Electricity students learn to plan, install, troubleshoot, and repair commercial and residential electrical systems, preparing students for entry-level electrician or electrical apprentice jobs. Students learn to use various meter types, common hand and power tools, conduit benders, motor control trainers, and assorted wiring devices.

With this Career Pathway, students will learn basics of electricity and related fields.
Eligible students:
Open to students in 11th and 12th grade.
Recommended courses:
EEM 105, EEM 140, EEM 151, EEM 215, EEM 165, EEM 166, NCCER Core: Introduction to Basic Construction Skills (continuing ed course)
When:
Courses are offered at various times of day, Monday through Friday.
Where:
High school students take dual enrollment classes at Greenville Technical College's Barton Campus.
Result:
High School Graduation + Industrial Electricity Certificate in Applied Science (20 hrs college credit)
Graduates are qualified for entry-level positions in commercial/industrial areas, with an average salary of $27.36.
AFTER HIGH SCHOOL
After high school, students may want to pursue an Associate Degree in General Technology or in another program at Greenville Tech.
The Associate in Applied Science General Technology degree offers students the opportunity to design a program of study to meet their individual needs, preparing for unique positions in the workplace for which specialized degree programs do not currently exist - customized, industry-specific needs and/or unique academic and career goals.
This degree program requires a minimum of 21 credit hours from an approved content area and allows customizing of courses to build the remainder of the curriculum. Example programs:
The 20 credit hours earned in high school may reduce some of the requirements or may supplement the degree as a minor program.
